The Phone Tripod Adapter lets you mount a selfie stick securely onto a standard photography tripod, turning a lightweight phone setup into a stable, adjustable filming platform.
Developed in Aotearoa New Zealand for field use — when you need your phone at a sensible height, hands-free, and with proper control over angle and framing.

Two ways to use this design
Print it yourself
Download the open-source file and print the Phone Tripod Adapter locally. The design is a single, robust part with no assembly required.
This option suits anyone with access to a 3D printer, or working through a local makerspace.

Use in the field
Mount the adapter onto a standard tripod, insert your selfie stick, then attach your phone as normal. Use your tripod controls for tilt/pan etc.
Accommodating both 25mm and 30mm diameter selfie sticks, the adapter has a standard-shaped foot plate that will fit many tripods.
There’s a central mounting hole so you also have the option of attaching it to a flat-top tripod with an off-the-shelf 1/4 inch bolt.
